A
question was asked of me recently, “Why are they trying to kick God out of
everything?”
As I contemplated this
issue, my answer came quickly. I believe the secular population of our country wants
to remove any trace of God from our schools, communities, and government . . . out
of FEAR!
As a whole, we are a greedy, selfish, and self-serving society, which is the exact
opposite of what Christ teaches in His Word . . . to be giving, loving, and serving!
I believe these principles
fly in the face of unbelievers and they FEAR looking at themselves through the eyes of God.
They try to eliminate Him from their presence, which is impossible, for the
Holy Spirit can convict the most hardened heart and turn it to mush.
God
works on us as individuals. When the Holy Spirit zeros in on a man's spirit and
he still resists the promptings of God, he is most miserable. People don't want
to give in to God because that means they may have to change their false
beliefs and see the TRUTH or give up an ungodly lifestyle. They may
have to think of others before themselves or become one of "those
people" they have hated. They would be stepping into the camp they have
ridiculed and despised, so they think they can kick God out. How foolish! They
may try to restrict Him from public view, but privately He touches our hearts
every day.
If they only knew that
surrendering to God is not “giving up” their lives but receiving so much more
in life. Those things they thought were important become insignificant and
walking with Christ becomes the most
important thing.
The
only way God could ever be removed from the public arena is if Christians keep
silent. I would say to those who try . . .
"It is a FEARFUL
thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
